Overcome Café: Tales of Mind, Body and Relationships

Before we start, a few things to keep in mind…

Overcome Café Podcast Disclaimer

Welcome to Overcome Café.

This podcast is a place for thoughtful conversations about the inner life—exploring themes of mental well-being, relationships, leadership, cycling, spiritual formation, and living with greater intention.

The reflections shared here are for educational and informational purposes. My hope is to create space for curiosity, reflection, and meaningful conversation—not to provide individualized psychotherapy, counselling, psychological assessment, diagnosis, or medical advice.

Although I draw on my experience as a Registered Psychotherapist, as well as on psychology, contemplative practices, cycling, leadership, and my own life experiences, listening to this podcast does not establish a therapist-client relationship or any other professional relationship.

If you are experiencing significant emotional distress or have concerns about your mental health, I encourage you to seek support from a qualified healthcare or mental health professional in your area. If you are currently one of my clients, please use our established methods of communication for any clinical questions or concerns rather than this podcast or social media.

From time to time, I may also share reflections inspired by philosophical and spiritual traditions, including the Christian faith. These reflections are part of my own journey and are offered with respect for the diverse beliefs, values, and experiences of each listener. They are intended as invitations to reflection, never as expectations or prescriptions.

Thank you for spending your time here. Whether you're listening on a walk, during your commute, or while out on a ride, I hope these conversations help you slow down, reflect deeply, and move through life with greater clarity, presence, and intention.

Meet your host

Louis-Philippe Landry (LP)

Hi, I'm Louis-Philippe Landry—though most people call me LP.

I'm a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, Canada, speaker, writer, and the founder of Overcome Café. More importantly, I'm a husband, a father of two wonderful daughters, and someone who is continually learning what it means to live with greater presence and intention.

For many years, I believed growth came from pushing harder. Today, I find myself increasingly convinced that lasting transformation begins by slowing down, paying attention, and responding to life with greater wisdom rather than greater urgency.

Much of what shapes my perspective comes from three places: the therapy room, the gravel roads I love to ride, and the quiet practices that continue to form my own life. Together, they have taught me that our greatest challenges often become our greatest teachers when we make space to listen.

Through Overcome Café, I hope to create that kind of space.

Each episode begins with a story and unfolds into a conversation about the inner life—exploring psychology, relationships, leadership, cycling, spiritual formation, and the everyday experiences that quietly shape who we become.

Whether you're navigating a season of change, searching for a steadier rhythm, or simply looking for thoughtful companionship on the journey, I'm grateful you're here.

Pull up a chair.

Pour yourself a coffee.

Let's have a conversation.

Live in rhythm, not in reaction.

LP 👊

Vicki’s experience in cycling part 1 with Vicki Lambrou

Vicki’s experience in cycling part 1 with Vicki Lambrou

Hey folks,

Today’s episode is an exciting one! We have Vicki Lambrou as a guest to share her cycling experience and how this has provided an arena to express life lessons and self-care. She is a certified counselor working in the Canadian Federal Government and she spends her waking hours helping others. From clients to friends and family, she brings compassion and understanding to others while balancing self-care and personal development. Her experience in cycling is representative of driven people trying to do the “juggling act” and choosing to set goals that are process-oriented “aka character-building” rather than striving for the next “new thing”. We have an account of openness and authenticity from Vicki and we hope you will find your “give yourself a break” moment in order to find your passion in cycling.

Stay driven and vulnerable,

LP Landry, co-host of Overcome Café: tales of Mind, Body, and Relationships.

Episode 6- DM a therapist tries to answer “how to ask for help?”

Episode 6- DM a therapist tries to answer “how to ask for help?”

Vicki and I have a great conversation about how to ask for help from a mental or physical health professional. We give a perspective from both the client's and the professional’s point of view.

This will serve you well if you believe that stopping and taking care of yourself is an obstacle to your goals… but not doing so can cost you short and long term.

Stay driven and vulnerable,

LP

Episode 5- Our “why” aka we love to dive deep into a subject :)

Today’s episode was such a dream of mine! Having the chance to build alongside great humans! A guest that became a friend and the MOST important human in my life, aka my better half, Vicki! This episode dives deep into each of our individual why. Having taken each our own journey to get to this I thought it would so interesting for you to hear us working on this via this episode. I am so happy for you to hear this genuine, soul-feeding, and emotionally freeing conversation. We three are different variants of driven people, and this is so obvious by the way we approach life wherever that means of each of us.

Where we unite Matt, Vicki and I are that we are process-oriented and time or number specific are the arenas where we grow and gain wisdom that leads us to our purposes/personal why.

Have a great listen folks!

Stay driven and vulnerable,

LP Landry.
